Booking a Late Season Trip from Grand Portage

Just an FYI for anyone planning a fall trip via the Voyageur yet this year. I went to book our trip for 9-25 (Wednesday) and the boat was full!! Talking to Captain Don, there are some late season school groups this year as part of some sponsored student trips that are going to Windigo. The boat is full to Windigo where it is dropping off a 30+ group before heading to Rock Harbor! We have to go out on 9-22 (Sunday) to Windigo then take to boat around on Wednesday after they drop off the group to get to Rock Harbor. Luckily I am able to get the extra time and we will spend it at Huginnin Cove but, for those thinking of a trip, I thought it would be good to share.
This time of year has never been a problem before, but this may be a yearly thing so, if you go towards the end of the season like us, you may want to book sooner in years to come.
