Re: Any recent trips to Sargent Lake?
I've always wanted to take my Klepper folding kayak to Sargent. It be no problem carrying the boat in it's bags and assembling once you were at the lake's shore. I just have to find the best route to get to the lake. Looking at an aerial photo, Sargent Lake looks to be quite the place to paddle.

Re: Best Time to View Fall Color
Thanks for the reply. I lived on Lake Superior (Munising) back in the 1980's and know that the Lake can influence when the trees turn color (with the shoreline forest turning color later than the forest away from the lake). But no, I have never taken any classes or courses on canoing or kayaking. So, before I get way ahead of...

Re: Rain!
The island got 4" of rain. Apparently a 57" seiche was recorded at Windigo. A USFWS boat got caught under a dock when the water went out and ended up sinking. Also 70 MPH winds were recorded. The NWS called IR before the storm so they could get a warning out to people on the water. It wil...

Re: Rain!
No doubt the arrowhead of Minnesota, and Isle Royale, need the rain. The western Great Lakes, meaning lake Superior, have been experiencing bellow normal precipitation for several years now. All this rain flowing onto Lake Superior can only help the water levels. As for campers on Isle Royale, you t...
